Addison D. Cole of Lincoln, MA, age 98, died at home peacefully on January 19, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Anne Buffington Cole. He is survived by his children, Stephanie V. Ballew of Edwardsburg, MI, Pamela J. Cole of Framingham, MA, Peter E. Cole of Newton, MA, Paul N. Cole of Oceanside, CA, Patricia A. Hammer of Stowe, VT, and his step-children, Sarah Cox of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mandy Young of Concord, MA, and Ford Rackemann of Concord, MA. He is predeceased by a son, Patrick M. Cole. He also leaves five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Addison graduated from the University of Washington College of Engineering in 1941 having rowed four years on varsity crew. He founded Adcole Corporation in 1957 in Boston and retired at the age of 95 with a thriving business operating for over sixty years in four countries. His work was instrumental in the development of radar during World War II and his equipment is on board most satellites orbiting the earth.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:30-9:00 pm at the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord, MA.
