Barbara Benedict Gifford

Barbara Benedict Gifford passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2014. Married for 67 years, she is survived by her husband Chandler Gifford Jr. of Concord.
She was born in Boston in 1925 to Laura Elms Benedict and Dr. Edward B. Benedict.
Barbara enjoyed a love of music throughout her life attending the BSO on a regular basis and eagerly sharing this interest with all who knew her. Amid family and friends, she also delighted in their many dogs, playing tennis, sailing and golfing particularly in Concord, Duxbury and Maine.
She is survived by two sons, Peter L. Gifford and his wife Holly Cleveland Gifford of Concord and Benjamin O. Gifford of Penobscot, Maine and his son Samuel of Concord. She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy G. Watson. She is also survived by a son in-law Peter T. Watson of Bainbridge Island, WA and their children Hilary of Seattle, WA and Alexander of Hawaii.
Services will be private.
