Bertha Mae Parker

Bertha Mae Parker age 68 of Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 in Groton, Massachusetts.

Born in Orange, Texas on July 29, 1949 the daughter of the late Edward R. and Hazel (Doyle) Parker. She was raised and educated in Westlake, Louisiana.

Bertha was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them all. She worked as a home health aid where she was able to continually care for those in need. Bertha also enjoyed traveling, preparing family meals, and visiting all her family and friends across the country. Bertha was a woman of faith and enjoyed attending church services. She was always reading and studying the Word of God.

She is survived by her children, Donald Franklin and Douglas Franklin of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Najah Alford and her husband Joe of Concord, Massachusetts, Omar Abu-Ain of Texas, Nadiah Moore of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Amineh Abuain of Massachusetts, and by five grandchildren Juliette, Nadia, Jada, Chloe, and Robert, Jr.

Private family services were held at the Concord Funeral Home, Concord. Burial will be on Saturday in New Ritchie Cemetery, Moss Bluff, LA.
