Bonita Lou Miller of Acton, MA, passed away with the comfort of family on Jan 30th at the age of 80. Born in Elmira, NY March 29, 1945, daughter to Bette and Richard Moore, “Bonnie” grew up at Hathorne Court. She felt music deeply, and married saxophonist and educator Jeffrey David Miller (d. 2022) of Riverside Ave in 1968. Jeff and Bonnie built a life around their shared values; prioritizing family first, a mutual appreciation and support for music and the arts, and love for travel and homemaking.
Bonnie was an early computer technology maven; she enjoyed an accomplished career as a software programmer at Mutual of New York, and later thrived as an independent consultant. Bonnie’s earnest curiosity and genealogy acumen led to her long-standing side business helping innumerable families to recover antique photos of relatives.
Bonnie was creative and funny, intelligent and witty. She wrote poignant and humorous poetry and valued a good story. Her sunny smile, innate kindness, generous spirit, and tireless encouragement brought hope and joy to all who knew her. She loved to sing and dance. She was warm and affectionate, and she knew how to laugh.
Above all, Bonnie was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who supported her family’s well-being and happiness through countless acts of love. She rejoiced in the successes of her loved ones, and accepted everyone, as they were, with no exceptions.
Bonnie is survived by daughter Laura Burdick, son-in-law Richard Burdick, son Jeffrey Miller Jr., daughter-in-law Robin Beck-Miller, granddaughter Cybèle Miller, grandson Jacob Miller, her brothers Ron Moore and his wife, Cindy; Randy Moore and his wife, Nelly; and Rick Moore, along with beloved extended family.
The family will celebrate her life privately.
