Charles E. Harmon, age 79 of Wells, Maine and Bonita Springs, FL, formerly a 78 year resident of Concord, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. He was the husband of Lorraine (Proto) Harmon.
Born in Concord on February 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Henry and Ethel (Knight) Harmon. Raised and educated in Concord Mr. Harmon was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the AJ Welch Corporation for 42 years and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He also owned Minuteman Campers, where he designed and constructed campers for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Harmon enjoyed many winters in their Bonita Springs, Florida, home, as well as summers in Wells, ME and Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Paul D. Harmon of Wells, ME, a daughter Patricia Harmon Derby of Delray Beach, FL, his sisters Dorothy Graham of Sandwich, Mildred Mullen of ME, and Marjorie Larabee of ME, his grandchildren Christian and Alex Derby, Kelly Ann Harmon, and Matthew Moon, and two great-grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Charles E. Harmon Jr.
