Charlotte L. Burstad

July 15, 1916 — August 12, 2009

Charlotte Louise Burstad, 93, of Concord passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Life Care of Nashoba Valley in Littleton. Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, July 15, 1916, daughter of the late Lossie and Lucile (Youmans) Laird, she was the wife of the late Ralph G Burstad.

Charlotte, a long time resident of Concord, grew up in Acton. A graduate of Fitchburg State College, she taught first and second grades in both Acton and Waltham for several years early in her life. In Concord she was a member of many clubs and organizations. Among these were the Eastern Star, the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary, and the Concord Women’s Club. She was a communicant of the Trinitarian Congregational Church.

Charlotte, the consummate homemaker, found great pleasure in entertaining family and friends and was always concerned that others be happy. Bringing people together was her special gift.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlene and her partner, Stephen Procissi of North Andover; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and John Marsh of Virginia; a niece Bonnie and her husband Jack Dunn of Connecticut; and a nephew, David Marsh, of Virginia. She was predeceased by her sister Marion and her husband Austin MacRae, Jr. of New Hampshire.
