Darlene Ann Spittle (Chick), 77, of Rockport, MA, passed away peacefully with her siblings by her side on January 26, 2024. Born on March 28, 1945, in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late John E. Chick and Lucille A. Chick. Darlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard "Dick" C. Spittle.

A graduate of the Rockport High School Class of 1963 and the Addison Gilbert School of Nursing Class of 1977, Darlene dedicated her life to the caring profession, serving with compassion as a nurse for Dr. Kace DDS, Peabody Pediatrics, Dr. Jouhourian MD, and Dr. Benoit MD.

Darlene's life was a testament to her love for her family and community. She and Dick found joy in simple pleasures, including boating on the Annisquam River, golfing in the warm Florida sun, and skiing the slopes of Mt. Cranmore with treasured friends. She was a dedicated member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization and the First Congregational Church. She enjoyed time once a month catching up with her high school girlfriends over lunch. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and friends, particularly cheering on her grandchildren at their various sporting events and celebrating their incredible achievements.

She leaves behind a loving family: daughters Lauree Cameron Eckler and her husband Brad, Kimberly Cameron Tibert and her husband Robert; brother Peter Chick and his wife Margaret; sister Beth Lace Tripp; grandchildren Isabella, Sophia, Lucia and Lyndsey Eckler, Robert his wife Marietta, Cameron, Caden and his fiancé Amanda, Matthew and his fiancé Veyla, Cally, Ashley Standley and her husband Jake and Lindsey Tibert; and great-grandchildren Arianna, August, Tyler, Addison, and Brady. She will also be greatly missed by her rescue pup, Penny.

Darlene's indelible spirit, bright smile, and loving presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her love and selfless service legacy will continue to inspire those she left behind. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, nurturing spirit, and steadfast devotion to those she held dear.
