Donald R. "ACE" Adams

February 22, 1942 — November 12, 2015

Donald R. "ACE" Adams age 73 of Concord passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness.

Born in Concord on February 22, 1942 he was the son of the late Elliott Stetson and Jessie B. (McWilliams) Adams.

Don was raised in Concord graduating from Hudson High School. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry and later as a school bus driver for the town of Acton.

Don was a loving father and grandfather, family was the center to his life. He enjoyed flea marketing, listening to Jazz, tending to his tomato garden and hosting neighborhood gatherings on a regular basis. He made frequent to trips to Ashby State park with his children which they fondly remember. Loved to canoe on the Concord River as well. Don also collected clocks, nutcrackers and other fun trinkets he proudly displayed throughout his home. He enjoyed bar tending at the Candlewood Restaurant in Acton for many years. He was also avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and was often seen wearing the respective sports teams clothing. (list other hobbies, etc)

Don is survived by his children, Donald R. Adams and his wife Diane of Bluffton, SC, Lynn A. Adams of Concord and Heather E. Robertson and her husband David of Acton, his grandchildren, Nicole M. and Sarah E. Robertson and Cameron Nicholas "Little Elliott" Adams. He is also survived by his sister Judy Fournier of Auburn, Maine, his nephew Michael Fournier and niece Nancy Fournier and former wife who remained friends Betty Ann (Ruddock) Adams.

In honor of Don please wear Boston Red Sox or New England Patriots attire to the visitation and service. It is what he would have wanted.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember "ACE" on Friday, Nov. 20 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap Sts., Concord. His funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery will be private.
