Donna A. (Semple) Edwardsen

August 10, 1943 — November 15, 2021

Donna A. (Semple) Edwardsen age 78 and long-time resident of Bellingham, formerly of Acton and Westford, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Milford Regional Hospital, she was the beloved wife of 57 years to Sanford C. Edwardsen.

Born in Salisbury, Maryland on August 10, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Wallace A. and Laura (MacRae) Semple Whitcomb.

Raised and educated in Acton she graduated from Acton-Boxborough High School in 1961. On April 25, 1964, she married Sanford at the Acton Congregational Church and soon made their home in Bellingham where together they raised their loving children.

Donna worked for many years in the insurance industry, holding many roles, as well as a variety of other industries which included human resources, accounting, and business and office management. She enjoyed her career, retiring 2008.

Family was the center of her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Donna was always supportive of her family and enjoyed hosting many happy holidays over the years, and later enjoyed holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and family milestones together. She loved supporting her grandchildren as they grew, enjoyed many dance recitals, and loved to make favorite desserts for the family. She was also the primary connector and supporter of extended family. Donna and Sanford enjoyed travelling by car to places as far as Nova Scotia and Florida, but mostly enjoyed relaxing visits to the Cape and Maine. Her greatest passion and talent resided in the world of culinary arts where she perfected cuisine from many origins around the world.

Along with her husband Sanford, she is survived by her loving daughter Kristen Edwardsen of Chelsea, along with her husband Chandran Subramaniam loving son Brian Edwardsen and his wife Verrill of Shrewsbury, and her cherished grandchildren Rebecca, Sarah, and Luke Edwardsen. She also is also survived by her brother Eric Semple of Groton.

A private family service will be held at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord.
