Following his military service, he attended Iona College receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Nicholas met the love of his life, Isabelle Chase, a member of the Metropolitan Opera Corp De Ballet, in 1947. They were married in 1952 during his sophomore year at Georgetown. They spent over 60 wonderful years together and were rarely apart. Following graduation, first daughter, Lillian, with them, they moved to Seneca Road in West Acton, where daughter Beth joined the family. In 1960, the family built a house on Nashoba Road in Concord, where daughter Susan arrived. He opened his first office on Walden Street in Concord, later moving his office to the Concord Dental Building in West Concord.
