Duane Lynn Jones

Duane Lynn Jones, age 86 of Concord, beloved and devoted husband of Carol (Batchelder) Jones passed away Sunday evening with his loving wife,daughter and caregivers by his side.

Duane was born on December 19, 1930 in Clear Lake, Wisconsin the son of the late Clyde Leland and Edith (Johnson) Jones. He was educated in Clear Lake schools graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1948.

Duane then briefly attended River Falls State Teacher's College from 1949 to 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. Duane then attended Brown University from 1956 to 1960 Majoring in Psychology, minoring in Economics and earning a B.A. He also met Carol,the love of his life at Brown University as well.

The couple moved to Concord in 1967 where they raised their family. Duane was an active and involved member of the West Concord Union Church with his wife Carol and was also involved with the expansion of the church community as well as recent renovations.

In addition to his wife, Duane is survived by his sons, Stephen G. and his wife Liz of Maynard, Jeffrey W. and his wife Pamela of Grove City, PA. and his daughter Linda J. Jones and her partner John C. Foster of Brooklyn, N.Y.. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Matthew and wife Kiana and Christiana Jones of PA., C.J. and Taylor Jones of Maynard, His brother Roger Jones of Menomonee Falls, WI and his cousin Carol Hart of WI.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Duane Friday, Oct. 20 from 4 to 7 in the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord.

A Celebration of Duane's life will be Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 am in the
West Concord Union Church

Interment will be private.
