Edmund John Waldron, age 85, of Reed, Maine, formerly of Concord, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Togus VA Medical Center in Chelsea, Maine. He was the husband of Nancy Gleason Waldron.
Born at Emerson Hospital in Concord on July 18, 1939, he was the son of the late Edmund James and Elmira (Brown) Waldron. He was raised in Concord and soon enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country from 1957-1960. Upon his return home, he worked at Paul Cupp Greenhouse and was also a machinist. In 2002, they moved to Reed, Maine.
Ed was an avid flyer and enjoyed flying his airplane all over New England. He also enjoyed trapping and spending time with his family.
Along with his wife Nancy, he is survived by his son, Steve Lee of San Jose, California, daughter Ashley Waldron of Reed, Maine, and two grandchildren, Brianna and Jason Lee.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ed for an hour of visitation on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 am at the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap Street, Concord, MA. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial with U.S. Army Military Honors will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Concord.
Concord’s Town Flag will fly at half-staff in recognition of his honorable military service.
