Elizabeth Hana Nutter Lewis

December 8, 1965 — September 30, 2014

Elizabeth Hanna Nutter Lewis age 48 of Concord, formerly of Athens, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at her home. She was the loving wife of George G. Lewis and devoted mother of Eleanor K. and Clara P. Lewis.

She was born in Lansing, Michigan on December 8, 1965. She was the cherished daughter of Wade L. Nutter of Athens, Georgia and Patricia C. Nutter of Troutville, Virginia and stepmother Marilyn Maxwell Nutter of Athens, Georgia.

Elizabeth graduated from Clarke Central High School in Athens and from Indiana University with a BS in psychology and sociology. Her graduate studies were completed at North Carolina State University earning an MS in engineering and psychology and an MID in industrial engineering.

Elizabeth married George and settled in Concord where she worked for several consulting firms including Fitch, Inc., Insight Product Development, and Catapult Thinking in product design, engineering, research, and market strategy for both domestic and international clients. She later started her own firm, People Centered Research in Concord.

She had a very creative intellect and enjoyed art, books, travel, tennis, sailing, hiking, and the great outdoors with her family and friends. She also had a strong passion for raising and interacting with Carolina dogs.

She is also survived by her siblings Scott L. Nutter (Alice) of Ohio, Jamie Maxwell Ketner (Michael), Susan Maxwell Manthey (Keith), and Lindsay Maxwell Schlichting (Mark), all of Georgia. She was also the sister of the late James W. Maxwell, Jr.

The family wishes to thank the Concord community and many friends of the Lewis family for their outpouring of support and friendship.
