Ellen (Rosenberg) Turner, 69, of Acton, Massachusetts, formerly of Delmar, New York, passed away with her three children by her side on October 14, 2026, after a battle with cancer.
Ellen graduated from Bethlehem Central High School before attending St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where she graduated in 1978. It was there that she met her husband, Stephen W. Turner. Following college, Ellen and Stephen lived in Pennsylvania and Connecticut before returning to Delmar in 1993. After Stephen's passing later that year, Ellen devoted herself to raising their three children. She approached life's many challenges with remarkable independence, grace, and resilience, demonstrating a strength that those who knew her deeply admired.
Ellen worked for many years as a teacher's aide at Hamagrael Elementary School, where she had once been a student and where her own children later attended. She valued the friendships and connections she made throughout her life.
Ellen's family was the center of her life, and she found particular joy in being a grandmother. Her five grandchildren, George, Elliot, Eliza, Doug, and Fred, brought her tremendous happiness and were fortunate to have such a loving and devoted grandmother. In her later years, Ellen moved to Acton, Massachusetts, to be closer to her family.
Ellen is survived by her three children, Amy Turner (Ryan Miller) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Brian Turner (Jennifer) of Acton, Massachusetts; and Sara Johnson (Justin) of Concord, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind many devoted members of her extended family, including her sister-in-law, Katharine Berger of Concord, Massachusetts.
Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Stephen W. Turner; her parents, Franklin and Veronica Rosenberg; her parents-in-law, Kent and Barbara Turner; and her beloved dogs, Maxi and Ginger.
The family will hold funeral services later this year.
