Florence "Breezie" Howard, age 93, passed away peacefully November 24th at home in Stow following several months of declining health.
She was born in Louisville Kentucky to Florence and Noble Burford. She graduated from Pine Manor Junior College. Breezie and her late husband, Stanley Howard were married in 1947. She is survived by sons, Richard (Punta Gorda Fla.) William (Stow Ma), Eliot (Edina MN).
Breezie and Stan lived for most of their married years in Concord, and then Westford Ma. Following Stan's passing, Breezie moved to Meeting House at Stow where she lived an active life, enjoying her good friends who lived just a floor or a few doors away.
Family was Breezie's priority and joy. Yet her interest in, and attentiveness toward people extended beyond kin to a wide circle of friends. She was active at Trinitarian Congregational Church where she was a member for 71 years. Breezie loved gardening, cooking and sewing. Creating festive family holiday celebrations was her passion. Hospitality towards all was her calling. She was blessed with a sharp mind and wit to the end of her days.
In addition to her sons, Breezie is survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance and Thanksgiving will be held at the Trinitarian Congregational Church (UCC) 54 Walden St. Concord on Saturday, January 12, 2019 11:00AM. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
