Francis L. "Frank" Ryan

Francis (Frank) L. Ryan, 92 of Arlington and Sagamore Beach passed away peacefully on June 4, 2018, at Brightview Assisted Living in Billerica, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances Mary (Curtis) Ryan who died in 2011 after 63 years of marriage.

Frank was born in Somerville on June 28, 1925, the son of William and Margaret (Doherty) Ryan. Raised and educated in Somerville, he graduated from Arlington High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country as a combat veteran during WWII. He was an Arlington Firefighter for 35 years. He was also a skilled carpenter, building several homes on Cape Cod. He enjoyed music and tending to his vegetable garden.

His proudest accomplishment was his family. He is survived by William F. Ryan and his wife Kathy of Derry, NH; Barbara A. Flaherty and her husband Chuck of Billerica; Carol J. Bartalussi and her husband Bob of Westford and Daniel J. Ryan and his wife, Tricia of Dennis; five grandchildren, Kristine, Kelly, Megan, Kasey and Ryan and five great grandchildren, Kylie, Katelyn, Allyson, Michael and Declan.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Frank on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., ARLINGTON. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Agnes Church, 51 Medford St., Arlington. Burial will follow with U.S. Army Military Honors at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
