George F. Geisenhainer

August 9, 1925 — November 23, 2014

George F. Geisenhainer age 89 and longtime resident of Tyngsborough passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell.

George was born in New York, NY on August 9, 1925. He was the youngest son of the late George E. and Emmy (Arntz) Geisenhainer and brother of the late Walter G. Geisenhainer.

He received his education in Union City, NJ at the Roosevelt Grammar School and graduated from Union Hill High School. He went on to the Cooper Union and graduated BME in 1950.

He was employed as a steam generator-estimating engineer in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He also worked in materials handling as an internal sales supervisor in Woburn. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. George retired in 1990 as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.

George was an active member of the Tyngsborough Council on Aging where he volunteered regularly. He was a communicant of the Evangelical Congregational Church in Tyngsborough.

He enjoyed history and government novels, music, stamp collecting, boy scouting, card playing, bowling, fishing and volleyball.

George will be remembered for his love of his German heritage, which strengthened his love for America.

George is survived by his nephew, Robert G. Geisenhainer of Milford, NH, his niece Rev. Gail R. Geisenhainer of Ann Arbor, MI, his sister-in-law Elizabeth Geisenhainer also of Ann Arbor, MI. He was also the stepson of the late William H. Freyher.

The family would like to thank the many health care providers whose care and personal attention helped George while at Fairhaven Health Care Center. Also a special thank you to the Tyngsborough Council on Aging for all their services and support.

George was interred on Tuesday, December 2nd in the family burial plot at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
