Georgia Drake age 100 of Lincoln, Jan. 7, 2015 after a long, healthy, loving and fulfilling life. Georgia also known as Ma, Nana, Great Nana and Jiggs celebrated her One Hundredth birthday at her home with family in December 2014.
She was honored in November 2013 as the oldest living registered voter in Lincoln with the presentation of the Boston Post Cane.
Georgia grew up and went to school in Somerville, before living in Lexington and Lincoln. Her last job was a 33-year stint as an office manager and dental assistant in the office of Dr. Paul Goldstein in Bedford. She greeted all patients - "If you weren't a friend when you walked in, you were when you left." Georgia loved that job and didn't retire until she was 87.
Georgia was a loving and loved mother, nana and great nana. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She loved her road trips across the country and throughout New England with family, friends or just her and her dog, making new friends along the way.
She was the mother of Robert Drake of Lincoln and the late Jack Drake; mother-in-law of Martha Drake of Arlington; grandmother of Erik Drake and wife Lisa of Manchester, NH and Elizabeth Rodriquez; and great-grandmother of Evan and Alex Drake of Manchester, NH.
Family and friends gathered to honor and remember Georgia on Sunday, Jan.11th in the Concord Funeral Home, Concord. Interment was private in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
