Geraldine (Andersen) Lawrence-Gravell, age 79, of Concord, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 7th, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Gravel of Concord. Born in Concord on August 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Krist and Marjorie (Schneider) Andersen.
Geri was educated at the Harvey Wheeler School and Concord High School, She graduated from Bryant University in 1951. She worked for a number of years as an executive secretary at Concord Public Schools and at the John Cuming Building at Emerson Hospital. She also spent a few years modeling for various agencies.
President of Christian Women's Club, Geri was devoted to Christian causes, and was very active at the Evangelical Free Church of Concord, Grace Chapel of Lexington and Trinitarian Congregational Church of Wayland. A talented soloist, in recent years Geri volunteered time as part of a choir performing at local nursing homes. She most loved spending time with her family and close friends, and had a great gift for entertaining and creating a beautiful, warm, and welcoming home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Deborah Lawrence-Swallow and her husband George Swallow of Boston, her son David Lawrence of Shrewsbury, and her granddaughter Kristina Elyse Swallow and her husband Will Crumbley of Boston. She was also the sister of Janet Stuart of Groton and Krist ("Skip") Andersen and his wife Helen Andersen of George's Mills, New Hampshire.
