Giacomo F. Michienzi of Concord passed away on Friday. December 23, 2011 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette (Conte) Michienzi.
Born in Pizzo, Italy on March 27, 1936 he was the son of Concetta (Dastoli), and the late Tommaso Michienzi, and brother of Anna-Maria Michienzi of Rome, Italy. He was the loving father of Tanya Michienzi and her husband Gary Millward of Lowell, and Natasha Venti and her husband Jerome of Acton. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas and Sophia Venti, brother-in-law of Phifine Marenco of Concord, Rose-Marie Dobbins and Ernesto Cirignano of NV. Uncle of Brent Dobbins of Concord and Monique Dobbins of NV. Also survived by extended family and many friends here and abroad.
Giacomo was raised in Rome and studied in Italy and the USA. He was employed for several years at Chas. T. Main/Parsons as Principal Architect, Infrastructure & Technology Group. He was Sr. Architect-Engineer for Az Zour South Power Station Project in Kuwait. At Raytheon he was Sr. Architect & Design Engineer, FAA/TSSC; and Construction Manager, National OSHA Upgrades Program. He was Chief Architect for SEA Consulting, Milan, Italy. He created Formtech and had several patents for a unique monolithic structure system. He had a fascinating career designing hospitals, airports, and hotels, and designed and supervised the construction of private homes.
Giacomo was ingenious, travelled extensively, and lived life to its fullest. He was a mentor, a teacher, a philosopher and a great communicator. He had a fantastic memory. He was an avid reader; always wanting to learn new things. He loved to be with people and easily made friends. He was a gentle and loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, and a testament to all who knew him. We will all remember him with love and respect and we will miss him.
A funeral mass celebrating his life was held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Holy Family Parish, Concord. Interment followed in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
