Gloria White Guernsey

Gloria White Guernsey passed away peacefully at her home on Sentry Hill in York, Maine, on Tuesday night, June 30, 2026.

She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on August 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Philip D. and Gloria E. White.

Gloria married David W. Guernsey on August 12, 1978, and shared the next 47 years together.

Gloria graduated from Simmons College in Boston with a Bachelor of Science degree.

She worked for over 30 years as a financial manager for Sail and Inc Magazines, retiring in 2003.

Gloria’s kindness and generosity of spirit brought happiness and joy to all those around her. She was active with a wide variety of interests including gardening, reading and skiing. She took especial joy in her flower gardens at her house in Kingfield, Maine, where she welcomed a myriad of relatives and other guests into her house which she dubbed “The N & N”, for nieces and nephews.

Gloria is survived by her husband, her siblings Dierdre Leighton of Belmont, Massachusetts, Antoinette Haffner of New Canaan, Connecticut, and Jonathan White of Carlisle, Massachusetts.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Gloria for an hour of visitation on Friday service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 at from 10:00 - 11:00 am in the Concord Funeral Home at 74 Belknap Street in Concord, Massachusetts. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial in Green Cemetery, Carlisle, MA.
