Harriot D. Urban

Harriot Downs Urban, age 87 of Concord, formerly of Osterville, MA, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at her residence.�She was the wife of the late Joseph John Urban.

Born in Winchester, MA on July 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John William and Helen Hopkins Downs.�She was graduated from Winchester High School and studied Art History at Smith College and Northwestern University.

Following her marriage in 1940, she and her husband moved 22 times in 30 years throughout the Eastern and Midwestern United States in support of Mr. Urban's career with AT&T.�In 1967, they settled in Osterville.�Mrs. Urban moved to Concord in 2005 to be next door to her son, Roger Urban, and his family.

Mrs. Urban enjoyed playing Scrabble, reading, and staying abreast of current affairs.�She was an avid, life-long fan of the Red Sox and Bruins.�She particularly enjoyed walking well-known golf courses in this country and the British Isles with her husband and her late son, Douglas Urban.

Mrs. Urban's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and their families.�She is survived by six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Stephen, Abby, Ashley, and Alexandra, as well as two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Ava.
