Ingrid M. (Weise) Nicholi

May 14, 1931 — June 3, 2017

Ingrid Marta Nicholi, age 86, died peacefully at home in Concord, MA on June 3, 2017. Ingrid was born in Ridgewood, N.J. on May 14th, 1931 to Arthur and Marta Weise. She had an older sister Wallie.

Ingrid had an adventurous spirit. Soon after high school she went to nursing school and then put that degree, as well as her fluent German, to good use joining PamAm as an international flight attendant. She regaled her family with stories of her travels. Once at the far-flung locales, however, she wasted no time seeking out the best those places had to offer. In 1957, Ingrid married the love of her life Dr. Armand M. Nicholi Jr. who she had met both in the hospital where they both worked as well as the church they both attended, 5th Presbyterian in New York City.

After finishing his residency at Harvard Medical School, Armand opened a private practice first in Cambridge, MA and then in Concord and Ingrid focused on raising their two children Kimberly and Armand III.

In addition to raising their children Ingrid was very involved in with a wide group of friends in both book clubs and bible studies, both of which she enjoyed immensely. She also spent many years volunteering as a retired nurse in the recovery room at Massachusetts General Hospital. Ingrid and Armand were active members of both Park Street Church in Boston and Memorial Church in Harvard Yard.

Ingrid is survived by her husband Armand, her daughter Kimberly of Wellesley, and son Armand III of San Diego; and her four grandchildren Alexandra, Tyler, Mathew and Katherine as well her great grandson, Brian. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and known for her compassion, her kindness and her wonderful sense of humor.

Memorial service will be Thursday, June 8 at 11:00 am in the Memorial Church of Harvard University, Cambridge. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
