Jane (Nicholson) Tod age 99 of Bedford formerly of Concord died Friday, August 21, 2009 at Carleton-Willard Village in Bedford. She was the wife of the late George B. Tod who died in 1964.
Mrs. Tod was born in Youngstown, Ohio n April 18, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Barbara (Henderson) Tod. Raised and educated in Ohio, she attended Rayen High School and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. Following college she was an elementary school teacher in Youngstown.
Mrs. Tod married George in 1937; the settled in Schenectady, NY where together they raised their family. While in Schenectady she was an active member of the Trinity Methodist Church, PEO, The Antiquarian Society and the Arrangers Club.
In 1984 Mrs. Tod moved to Lincoln and later to Concord, MA. While in Lincoln/Concord she was an active member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church, volunteered at the Tri Con Gift Shop, PEO member and volunteered at Emerson Hospital. An avid flower arranger, she also enjoyed membership in the Lincoln Garden Club. In 1998 she moved to Carleton-Willard Village in Bedford.
She is survived by her two sons; George Robert Tod of Cumberland Foreside, ME and William Henderson Tod of Manistee, MI, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
