Jean Elizabeth (Banks) Pierce, age 86, wife of the late Lawrence M. Pierce passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO.
She was born in Lexington on November 10, 1931 the daughter of Ralph E. and Elizabeth J. (MacPherson) Banks. She and her family moved to Hawthorne Lane in Concord where she was raised with her brother and two sisters, educated and graduated from CCHS. Jean was married to Lawrence M. Pierce on September 20, 1953 and they settled in Concord. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Concord Carlisle High School until her retirement. In her free time, Jean loved quilting, knitting and playing Bingo with her friends and most of all she cherished her closest friends Jean and Gerry Moscariello.
She was the loving mother of James Pierce and wife Joann of Beaverton, OR., Sheila King and husband Donald of Broomfield, CO., and Deborah McGarry of Acton., adoring grandmother of Jason and Jonathan Pierce, Christina Hanley, Emily Pelton, Timothy King, Jesse Dexter and Amy Lohr, Doting Great grandmother of Emma, Kate and Mae Henley, Riley Lohr, Bruce and Beau Pelton, Penelope, Julius and Juniper Pierce. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Lawrence, she is predeceased by her sisters Ida McPhillips, Margaret Miney and brother Ralph Banks, Grand-nephew Brian McPhillips and Great-granddaughter Lyla Henley.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jean for visiting hours on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord. Interment will be private.
