Jean Baird Wiltsee

Jean Baird Haney Wiltsee, age 90, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. She was the wife of the late William R. Haney and George A. Wiltsee.

Jean Elizabeth Baird was born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 12, 1933, daughter of the late Honorable Edward and Alice Hoover Baird.  She attended Radcliffe College, graduating with the class of 1955.  Jean and Bill married and lived in Newton for many years, raising five children together. Jean and George met in Lincoln after the death of her first husband at the wedding of her youngest daughter.  They were happily married for 36 years until George’s death in 2021.

Jean was an avid tennis player who played at the Longwood Cricket Club and the Concord Country Club for many years.  She was fortunate to travel extensively throughout the world with her husband, George, for his career and to visit their children.  She also was a member of the White Mountain Ski Runners in North Conway, NH.  Jean and George were among the first residents of Newbury Court in Concord, where they lived happily for many years.

She is survived by her children, Katherine Duffy of Louisville, CO, Elizabeth Holechek of Maplewood, NJ, Kevin Haney of Ramona, CA, and Sandra Twaalfhoven of Roermond, Netherlands; her grandchildren Aubrey and Miles Duffy, Scott and Kelly Holechek, and Nicole and Danielle Twaalfhoven, and her great-grandchildren; Rory and Hugo Duffy and Henry, Arthur and Emma Holechek.  She was predeceased by her son Baird Haney, who died in 1982.
