Jeanne S. (Fraser) Chandler

Jeanne S. (Fraser) Chandler, age 87 and long-time Concord resident passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late George A. Chandler who died in 1989.
Jeanne Susan Fraser was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on August 24, 1934, the daughter of the late Murdock A. and Rosalie (Hughes) Fraser. Raised and early educated in Cambridge she graduated from Cambridge Latin High School.
On October 23, 1954, Jeanne and George married in the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Cambridge and soon moved to Concord where they made their home for over 50 years. Her best days were spent in her home with her family and friends, celebrating events or just visiting. She cherished those times, especially those spent with her beloved grandchildren.
Jeanne had a rewarding career with Little, Brown Publishing Company handling many books, she loved her job. She enjoyed traveling with family and her best buddies Ione and Helen. Jeanne also loved animals: her cats, the birds at her feeder and llamas all brought her joy as well as reading. In her later years, luncheons at the Concord Council on Aging Senior Center were a highlight.
She is survived by her children, Susan Hart and husband Daniel of Southington, CT, Allen Chandler and wife Vanessa of Framingham and Scott Chandler and wife Mary of Chelmsford and her grandchildren, David and Samantha Chandler, also by her dear sisters-in-law, Joan Anderson and husband William, Earnestine Chandler and Margaret Fraser. She was predeceased by her brother Murdock Fraser.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jeanne for a period of visitation on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord. Burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery will be private.
