Jerome C. Hunsaker

Jerome C. Hunsaker Jr., age 93 of Concord, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at his Concord residence. Mr. Hunsaker, formerly of Lincoln, was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Blake) and Alice W. McKennan.

Born in Brookline on December 5, 1915, he was the son of the late Jerome C. and Alice (Avery) Hunsaker.

Mr. Hunsaker graduated from Exeter School and in 1938 from Harvard College. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1940. After his service, he enjoyed a long and successful career as principal of Colonial Management Association and was an early pioneer of mutual funds.

Mr. Hunsaker was a lifetime trustee of the Boston Museum of Science but more importantly, the man known as “Uncle Jerry” was the rock of support and source of joy to his much wider family.

An avid skier and early member of The Ski Club Hochebirge, he skied to the age of 85.

He is survived by his children, Melanie A. Ranney of Sante Fe , NM and Jerome C. Hunsaker, III of Wenham, MA. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
