Joyce Treybal Woodman

August 20, 1947 — April 21, 2015

Joyce Treybal Woodman, 67, of Concord, MA passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 21, 2015. Born at Emerson Hospital August 20, 1947, Joyce lived in Concord where she graduated from Concord Carlisle High School. She then went on to graduate in 1970 from Boston University's College of Liberal Arts with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts.

Joyce worked in Special Collections in the Concord Free Public Library from 1977 until she retired in 2005. She had deep knowledge and love for Concord history and literature. Joyce enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others, including many researchers who sought her advice. She served for many years as a member of the board of the Ralph Waldo Emerson Memorial Association. Family, friends, and co-workers all appreciated her even temper and sense of humor. Joyce loved spending time with family, including cousins and extended family. She also enjoyed the family pets, especially when she was spending a sunny afternoon in the yard with her dog.

Joyce is survived by her mother, Ethel Bornhofft Woodman, her brother, Byron E. Woodman, Jr. and sister-in-law, Kelvey Woodman, her nephew Byron E. Woodman, III and his wife, Monica Woodman and their children Byron and Lilly of Concord, her niece, Hunter Woodman Hutchinson and her husband John Hutchinson and their children, Lowell, Charlie, and Sally, of Carlisle. She was pre-deceased by her father, Byron Ewart Woodman, Sr. of Concord.
