Judith Bowe, of Lexington, formerly of West Harwich, Sudbury, & Milton, MA as well as Clearwater & Longboat Key, FL, died peacefully at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading, MA. She was eighty-nine years of age.
Born in Boston, MA, Judith was the daughter of the late William Henry Bowe, Jr. and Florence Jenkins, and sister of the late Jane Cote and Martha Bowe. She was educated in Braintree, MA at Thayer Academy and graduated from Centenary University of Hackettstown, NJ.
Judith was a vibrant, classy and caring woman who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved spending summer days on Cape Cod and living in the Florida Gulf Coast area. Her earliest fond memories were at her beloved summer camp where she embraced fun and friendships. In her young adulthood, Judith was proud to have worked at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Brookline, MA. Judith's greatest joy was watching her family pursue their passions of sports, music, faith, family, cooking, and professions to name a few. She was an avid reader, creative painter, skilled Nantucket basket weaver, dog & cat lover, and adored all things beautiful. When asked, "Why do you collect so many frogs?" Her response, "Have you ever seen a frog without a smile?"
Judith was the beloved mother of Silas Hudson Bunce III and his wife Deirdre Lynds of Ventura, CA, Jennifer Lark Bunce of Brighton, MA, William Henry Bowe Bunce Sr. of San Antonio, TX, Stephanie Jane Bunce Mitchell of Lexington, MA., step-mother of Bari Sullivan of Marlborough, MA, and Godmother of Arthur V. Cote (Bro) of Marshfield, MA. Judith was the former wife of Edward L. Sullivan (Ted) of Nashua, NH and Silas Hudson Bunce Jr. of Citrus Heights, CA.
Judith is survived by her grandchildren: Erin Bunce, Kara Bunce Simeonov, William Henry Bowe Bunce Jr., Laura Mitchell MacFadgen and her husband Frederick MacFadgen, Carolyn Mitchell, and Madison Bunce as well as great-grandchildren: Grace Arratia Bunce and Abigail MacFadgen.
Judith is also survived by her nieces and nephews of the Cote and Tisch Family, as well as the Jenkins Family.
It is with great love we remember our beloved mother.
