Julie McTigue Trant, age 63 and resident of Concord, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted and loving wife of 39 years to James E. Trant.
Julie was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, to the late William H. and Ruth Kay (Proper) McTigue. Following her graduation from Hamilton-Wenham High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science from Wheaton College and later her MBA from Simmons College.
Julie was known for her beautiful soprano singing voice and, in college, was a member of the Wheaton Whims acapella group. She had the role of pitch pipe for a time, of which she was quite proud.
In November 1983, she married Jim Trant in New Jersey, they soon relocated to their much-loved Concord, Massachusetts. Julie had a long, successful, and respected career in Human Resources from which she retired in 2019.
Julie and Jim enjoyed travel and rooting for their favorite sports teams, often combining the two. They travelled to Maui three times to attend the NCAA Basketball tournament and celebrate their anniversary. They also enjoyed attending Red Sox Spring Training in Fort Meyers, FL.
Most of all, Julie enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her beloved dogs, Henley and Emma.
She will always be remembered for her quick wit, kind spirit, and endless devotion to her loved ones.
Along with her husband Jim, she is survived by her brother Michael McTigue and wife Jenny and their daughters Harriet and Eleanor McTigue, her sister Megan Desjarlais and husband Robert, mother-in-law Joan Trant, sisters-in-law Kim Trant and husband John Garrison and their daughter Meredith, Sheila Trant, Joan Elizabeth Trant and husband John McNamara, and brother-in-law Kevin Trant and wife Madoyln and their children Cailyn and Declan.
Family and friends will gather for a period of visitation on Saturday, December 3rd from 1:00-3:00pm at the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm.
