Karen Elizabeth Stone

Karen Elizabeth Stone age 74 of Concord passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Care One Dimensions in Concord. She was a long-time residence of Concord.

Born in Providence, RI on September 9, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Donald Gordon and Catheryn Elizabeth (Chadwick) Stone.

Raised and educated in Barrington, Rhode Island she graduated from Barrington High School in 1964. She attended Syracuse University followed by Southern Methodist University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Later, she earned a Master's Degree in Sociology from Boston University. Karen worked for many years as a half-way house director in Boston, MA.

She loved to travel. After high school, Karen and her best friend, Barbara (Mann) Hannah went on a trip to Europe. As Barbara eloquently says 'As best friends we left on a grand tour of Italy, Southern France and Greece and returned as best friends blessed with wonderful life long memories.' Barbara and Karen remained life-long best friends.

She is survived by her brother Donald Everett Stone of Concord, her nephews, Donald Everett Stone, Jr. of Acton and Christopher B. Stone of Washington, DC as well as her grandnephews, Everett and Carter Stone.

Family service at the Concord Funeral Home will be private.
