Kathleen Susan Parker

November 15, 1947 — May 15, 2009

Kathleen Susan Parker, age 61 of Maynard, Mass. Died suddenly on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was the beloved daughter of Jacqueline (Stahl) Parker of Bedford, MA (formerly of Lincoln) and the late Jackson Burnham Parker.

Kathleen was born in Middlebury, VT on November 15, 1947. She attended Lincoln elementary school, and high school at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, and the Cambridge School of Weston. Kathleen earned her Bachelor's Degree at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY and later graduated with a Masters of Business Administration Degree, at a time when few women attained MBAs.

Kathi worked in business for some years, before finding her passion as a craftsman. She was a talented Metal smith, jewelry maker, teacher and the creator and proprietor of the Moonscape Design Studio in the Art Space building on Summer Street in Maynard. She also enjoyed knitting and fiber arts and writing. Kathi was truly compassionate, and often lent a hand to others as well as to animals, rescuing and rehabilitating feral cats.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her brother, Richard J. Parker of Georgetown, ME, her sister, Elaine Hawkes of Lincoln and was the cherished aunt of Ian and Annie Hawkes. She will also be missed by her fellow artists at the Art Space.
