Leah Mary (Melanson) Johnson age 90 of Woburn passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Pine Knoll Nursing Center in Lexington. She was the wife of the late William "Bill" Johnson.
Leah Mary Melanson was born in Waltham on August 4, 1928 the daughter of the late Edward E. and Leah M. (Liverneche) Melanson.
Leah and Bill married in Bermuda while he was stationed in the United States Air Force. They returned home to Woburn where together they raised their loving family. Leah was a talented and accomplished seamstress, she was a sewing teacher at Singer Sewing in Lowell and also taught all of her four children to sew. Leah also worked as a medical assistant with several local private practices and also with Baybank. Leah especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Diana Currier and her husband Mark of Cape Cod, Donna Harrison and her husband Peter of Newburyport, Darlene Johnson of Manchester, NH, Dale Johnson and his wife Kathleen of Woburn, her grandchildren, Jessica Fritschle, Stephanie Pasley, Nicole Harrison, Kristen Currier, Julianne Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Kyle Currier and Kyle Johnson.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Leah on Friday, August 10 from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord. Her funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm. Burial will be private.
