Linada P Conant

Linada (Perry) Conant, 94 passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at Westford House Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Arlington the daughter of the Late Lindsay and Ada (Baron) Perry.

Linada grew up in Concord and graduated from Concord High School. During her early years she was a member of the Rainbow Girls eventually becoming Worthy Advisor.

Linada lived on Utica St., Quincy for 40 years before moving to Westford 6 years ago. Mrs. Conant worked for many years as a bookkeeper and then became the supervisor of the Trust Department at First National Bank of Boston until her retirement. Before going to Bank of Boston, she was a waitress at Schrafft's on Tremont St. in Boston where she served JFK hot fudge sundaes on occasion. Linada was divorced from Morton Arthur Conant and never remarried.

She enjoyed traveling and went to HI, FLA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand with family members. She volunteered for many years at Quincy Hospital. She also enjoyed eating out and taking trips with her senior citizen group in Quincy.

Although she was an only child, she considered her cousin Marion Clark to be her sister as they were raised together. Linada especially enjoyed a game of Rummy during the frequent visits from her granddaughter Susan Higgins.

Linada is survived by her daughters, Frances Harnum of Westford, Diane Wilay of Salem, N.H., Nancy Hofferty of Burlington and the late Elizabeth Labo and a son Arthur Conant. She also leaves 17 Grandchildren, 28 Great grandchildren and 4 Great great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 10:30 in the Concord Funeral Home, cor. Thoreau & Belknap Sts., Concord. Interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the funeral home Tues. Nov 12 from 5 to 7 p.m.
