Mary Jane (Farnham) Niemann, age 80 of Stow, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Emerson Hospital.�Her daughter, Nan Mary, and son-in-law, Carl, were with her.
Born in Burlington, Vermont in 1927, she was the daughter of Charles H. W. Farnham and Mary Canney Farnham.�In 1951 she married Alfred Paul Niemann of Queens, New York at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington, Vermont.�She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Nan Mary Stutz, of Stow, Massachusetts, her son-in-law, Carl A. Stutz, her brother, Dr. John E. Farnham of Burlington, Vermont, as well as by many friends, nieces, and nephews.�She was "Aunt Janie" to many.
She graduated from the University of Vermont and was a teacher for 41 years, primarily in Garden City, New York.�She was an avid choral singer and gardener and was very active in the Waldorf School of Garden City, NY.�She loved music, birds, and flowers and supplied the birds with dryer lint and ribbons for their nests.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred P. Niemann, her brothers Charles H. W. Farnham, Jr. and Richard E. Farnham, her sister-in-law, Grace Niemann Goot, and her brother-in-law Andrew Goot.
