Michael Paskus Danziger died on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Barnard, VT. Michael was born on August 31, 1963 in New York City to Peggy Block Danziger and Richard M. Danziger. He attended the Collegiate School, Yale College, Oxford University, and the Harvard School of Education. He taught English at the St. Marks School in Southborough, MA and the Harvard School in Los Angeles, CA. While at the Harvard School of Education, he and John Simon founded The Steppingstone Foundation in 1990. Steppingstone is a program that prepares underserved schoolchildren for educational opportunities that lead to college success.
Michael served as the President and CEO of Steppingstone from 1990 to 2008 and served on the board until the time of his death.
He served on the board of trustees of the Fessenden School and the Collegiate School.
He is survived by his sons James, Robert, Charles, and Theodore Danziger and their mother Elizabeth (Betsy) Lind Danziger; his twin sister Katie Danziger; his grandmother, Adele Block; and his parents.
