Murray Hugh Sargeant

Murray Hugh Nichols Sargeant of Marlborough age 83 passed away peacefully at home on Monday September 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Marilyn (Wear) Murray, son Keith Murray and his wife Suzanne Flaherty of Franklin and his daughter Gayle of Concord. He also leaves 3 grandchildren Sarah and her husband Mike Dutile, Kimberly and John "Jake" all of Franklin.

Murray was born April 29, 1933 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. He served in the Canadian Army as 2nd Lieutenant. In 1960 Murray and Marilyn moved to Sudbury where together they raised their loving family. In 2006 they moved to Marlborough.

Murray had a successful career in the insurance industry working for the Middlesex Insurance Co. in Concord and Norfork and Dedham Insurance Co. in Dedham.

An avid hockey fan Murray enjoyed season tickets to the Boston Bruins during the Bobby Orr era. He also enjoyed going to the Beanpot Tournament games for many years with friends. He was also a member of the Musketquid Sportsmen's Club in Concord.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Murray on Thursday, Sept. 22nd from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord. His funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm.
