Nan was warm-hearted, thoughtful, generous, independent, strong, and fun. We remember Nan for her great sense of humor. She treated everyone with respect and made them feel honored and valued.
Nan enjoyed her long retail career. When she left TJX in 2014, she was the Senior Executive Vice President for HomeGoods, TJX Canada, and several staff departments.
Nan attended the Waldorf School of Garden City, NY through 12th grade. She received an AB from Princeton University in 1979 and an M. Ed from Harvard University in 1980. At Princeton, her boyfriend had never seen such a thoughtful person. Wisely, he pursued her and eventually, Nan and Carl were married in 1982. They adopted their daughter, Mariel, from Vietnam in 2008. Nan enjoyed fishing, music, reading and spending time with family.
Nan will be missed by many who have lost a wife, mother, or friend, but all of us have gained an angel.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Nan for a period of visitation on Friday, October 28, from 3:00-6:00 PM at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord, MA. Nan’s funeral mass will be on Saturday, October 29, at 10:00 AM also at Holy Family Parish. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
