Nancy Gwinn Huggins, 84, of Concord, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Newbury Court, surrounded by flowers, family photographs, art, music, and her two loving children. Nancy was born in Bryn Mawr, PA, to Betty and David Gwinn, and grew up on the Main Line. There, she cultivated lifelong friendships and developed her passion for art, music, flowers, and animals. Growing up in Gladwyn, she loved hosting friends and listening to music. She attended The Shipley School and Oldfields boarding school before heading to Bennett Junior College, which prepared her to earn an art history degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
In 1965, Nancy married John Ross Huggins. The couple first lived in Bronxville, New York, where Nancy worked in publishing, before moving to Wilton, Connecticut, where they welcomed their children, Marshall and Julia. They also lived briefly in Ruxton, Maryland, where Nancy worked at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
In 1981, Nancy moved to Concord, Massachusetts, which became her most cherished home. Deeply devoted to her community, she served in various roles with the Museum of Fine Arts, Emerson Hospital, Concord Art, the Concord Museum, and the deCordova Museum. She also enjoyed volunteering at her children's schools and Trinity Church and was an active member of the MFA book club, Seeds and Weeds, and the Ladies Tuesday Club. Later, she built a successful career in real estate in Concord, moreover cementing her status as a beloved member of the Concord community.
Throughout her spectacular lifetime, her most treasured accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. Nancy prioritized her days around spending time with family, especially her 5 grandsons, dear friends, tending her garden, and traveling the world with John.
Nancy is survived by her son, Marshall Huggins, and his wife, Martha, and their sons Liam Donovan (wife Thiele) and Wyatt and Ramsey Huggins and great-grandson, Ren Donovan; her daughter, Julia Huggins, and her children Peter and Willem Fitton; and her sister, Marty Gwinn. She was predeceased by her husband, John Huggins; her parents; and her brothers, John and Richard Gwinn.
