Ruth Pferd Neubauer

March 6, 1919 — August 8, 2014

Ruth Pferd Neubauer of Sudbury, MA passed away on August 8, 2014 at the age of 95 after a full and rewarding life, with family by her side. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, daughter of William and Emma Pferd and sister to the late William Pferd. Survived by her sister Margaret Elmer, Ruth was the wife of the late Clifford Neubauer, mother of the late Richard Neubauer and is survived by her daughter Margo Cascella/Creelman and daughter-in-law Patricia Neubauer. Ruth is also survived by her grandchildren; Meegan Finn and her husband David, Brian Neubauer, Scott Cascella and his fiancé Jamie Brennan, Kristen Pennell and her husband Jason. Ruth lived to see four great grandchildren, Andrew, Thomas, Emily and James Finn. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who is survived by nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Ruth raised her family in Berkeley Heights, NJ, where she resided for 37 years. Upon her retirement Ruth and her husband relocated to Little Silver, NJ and enjoyed their winters in Pompano Beach, FL. In the latter part of her life she followed her family to Sudbury, MA.

Ruth was a graduate of the Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School of New York City and worked for the Secretary of the Board of Education of Berkeley Heights. She was also active in church groups and social clubs (the Exxon Annuitants and Kumdubl) throughout her life.

Ruth was well traveled and loved to entertain. She was an excellent cook and left everyone she knew with many wonderful memories. All of her recipes and handwork are treasures that will stay with the family forever. One of her traditions was to knit family and friends personalized Christmas stockings, a total of over 40.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ruth on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00AM at Trinitarian Congregational Church, 54 Walden Road, Concord, MA. All are welcome to attend a lunch reception at the church following the service.

The family would like to thank all of those who supported them through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's honor may be made to the Trinitarian Congregational Church or The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
