Steven Wayne Robertson

July 16, 1950 — September 25, 2008

Steven Wayne Robertson of Somerville, formerly of Concord died on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Mass. General Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Woburn on July 16, 1950, the son of Irene (Martell) and the late Arthur Thomas Robertson. Steven attended Concord Schools and was graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School where he was deeply involved in the arts and enjoyed acting in many of the school's performances, including Lerner and Loewe's Brigadoon and Roger's and Hammerstein's Oklahoma, as well as shows by Gilbert and Sullivan.

After graduating High School, due to circumstances beyond his control, Steven became a quadriplegic. Even when burdened with this disability his courageous attitude kept him compassionate, kind, and loving toward others and he refused to dwell on what life had given him. He was always up on what was happening in his world of entertainment.

Steven loved the performing arts, children, and the advancement of research into spinal cord injury.
In addition to his mother, Steven is survived by his sister, Judy Dale Parker of Acton, two brothers, Arthur Thomas Robertson of Somerville and Matthew James Robertson of Poulsbo, WA, his niece, Kristen Garofalo, his nephew, Kipp Skye Robertson, a grandnephew, John, and a grandniece, Stephanie.

Services and interment will be private.

Those who wish may make contributions in his name to the Children's Hospital Spinal Cord Research Program, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115 or the Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
