Thomas Irving Berlied, Jr. age 54 of Maynard, formerly of West Concord, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family and his "honey."
Born at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts on December 16, 1967, he was the son of Thomas Irving Berlied, Sr. and Mary Thresa (Gillis) Berlied of Maynard. Raised in West Concord, Tom graduated from Minuteman Technical High School. He worked for many years as a skilled carpenter and his hands-on talents were admired and respected by many.
Tom's love for music ran deep. He was often found strumming one of his beloved guitars and when they weren't available a tambourine, harmonica, drums, spoons, air instruments, etc., would always suffice. Tom never turned down a jam session.
His love for fishing began on Warners Pond with his father and brothers. You could often find them casting out a line in Poppy's backyard. Tom was blessed with three daughters whom he tried desperately to pass on the fishing tradition with a less than satisfactory success rate.
Family was the center of his life, he cherished the time with his daughters, grandsons, and his "honey" Kelly Robinson. He looked forward to gatherings, holidays, and milestones together. Many of Tom's summers were spent camping with his brothers and cousins carrying on the Berlied family tradition. His warm, loving, and friendly demeanor was always embraced by all who knew him.
Along with his parents Tom is survived by his three daughters, Ashly Faherty and husband Patrick of Lunenburg, Patti Berlied (his "Puppy") and her fiancé Danielle Crowe of Manchester, NH, and Sarah Berlied (his "Birdy") of Leominster; his grandsons, Jack, Leo, and Cam Faherty, brothers Kevin Berlied of Millville, MA and Brad Berlied of Salisbury. He is also survived by his cousins, friends, and his Cape Breton family.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Tom for a period of visitation on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord, MA. Funeral and burial will be private.
