Valton E. "Val" Greene age 86 and long time resident of Sudbury passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was the husband of 56 years to the late Caroline (Santii) Greene.
Born in Boston on August 20, 1932 he was the son of the late William and Edith (Mullen) Greene, he was raised in Waltham.
Val resided in Sudbury for more than 50 years and was a teacher at the Malden Vocational School, Curtis Middle School in Sudbury, Assabet Vocational School in Hudson and retired from the Cotting School in Lexington. He served in the Army National Guard, was a member of the Sudbury Ancient Fife and Drum where he played the fife. He was also an avid bowler and tinkerer. Val enjoyed sharing his passion for skiing with his family and friends at Mt. Abram in Maine.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Babb and partner Sherri Grankewicz of Marshfield and Linda Ryan and husband Jim of Marlboro. Grandsons, David Babb and wife Jenn, Benjamin Ryan and wife Kathryn, Nicholas Ryan and partner Jen Desautels and Justin and Jordan Grankewicz. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Madison, Teddy and several nieces. He is predeceased by his brother Earle Greene sister-in-law Elizabeth Greene and sister Verna Gullotti.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Val on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 1:30-3:00 pm in the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St., Concord, his funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm. Burial will be private.
