Virginia E. (Buchanan) Grinnell

Virginia E. (Buchanan) Grinnell age 92 of Lincoln and Concord passed away on Saturday, Mach 26 at Life Care Center of Littleton
She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marjorie (Borresen) Buchanan and wife of the late William Lloyd Grinnell. Mrs. Grinnell is survived by her three children, Kenneth L. Grinnell and his wife Donna of Acton, Elizabeth J. Grinnell of Little River, CA and William L. Grinnell and his wife Karen of Paia, Maui, HI; grandchildren, Jennifer Carr and her husband Jeffrey, and Jonathan, Miken and Liam Grinnell and great-grandchildren Emerson and Taylor Carr.
After graduating from De Pauw University, she returned to Wilmette, IL, until 1947 when she and her family moved to Lincoln, MA. She lived in Lincoln for more than 65 years, where she was a member of the Lincoln Garden Club, the Town Hall Exchange, the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary and the Concord Country Club, and pursued her special love of music through various choral groups.
She was a long-standing member of the First Parish Church in Lincoln, and enjoyed singing in its choir group. “Ginnie” loved her dogs and was a familiar sight each day at the Center Post Office, with her favorite black Labrador waiting eagerly in the car.
A memorial celebration is planned for this summer at Squam Lake, NH, where she summered with her family for more than 50 consecutive years.
