William Orland Lytle

January 1, 1937 — August 18, 2020

William Orland Lytle, Jr. age 83 of Hingham formerly of Lexington passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 1, 1937 he was the son of the late William O. and Elizabeth (Taylor) Lytle. He was raised and early educated in Pittsburgh, PA.

Bill received his Bachelors and Master's degrees from Yale University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Boston University. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Bill enjoyed photography, classical music and was regular volunteer with The Boston Symphony Orchestra.

For over 30 years Bill was a respected and successful consultant to a variety of private, non-profit, and government organizations in the U.S. and Canada, helping them manage internal change. In many situations, he helped management, employees, and union representatives learn how to work collaboratively to implement significant organizational change.

More recently, Bill developed a guide "The Essential Organizer", this assisted families to be better prepared should their loved ones become incapacitated and when they pass away. Bill also has been a frequent presenter at workshops and conferences in a number of countries, and is a respected writer of books, articles, and training materials to guide those involved in complex organization change.

Along with his parents Bill is predeceased by his twin sisters Ann Quackenbush and Charlotte Lytle.

Burial will take place at Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.
